Just another manic Wednesday...

Hello everyone, and sorry for the slightly delayed update! Before I will recap last week in its glorious colors, let me just quickly mention in passing that if you want to save some serious $$$ on your wedding flowers as a DIY project, it's TOTALLY DOABLE!!! Just check out this wonderful company in US called GLOBALROSE (and they ship to Canada without a problem for an affordable fee), they are offering 500 fresh roses in your choice of colors at just 319$. WOW! And the best part? We tried them out for a friend's wedding and the flowers we got were magnificent, fresh and with large heads, so after some quick look-up on internet for tutorials and how-tos for making boutonnieres, corsages and bouquets, our friend (and us!) were overjoyed at the outcome and the SAVINGS.

Although we would still recommend a professional for your bridal bouquet and the groom's boutonniere, but the rest you can definitely do yourself and save money :) Globalrose also offers other fresh flowers at incredible prices, so they are definitely worth checking out.
And now, for the last' week's highlights: congratulations to the beautiful bride Michele and her handsome husband Toni, who got married last Saturday in a cozy and sweet garden setting. Yes, your own backyard can be transformed into a magical ceremony & reception venue, you just need a bit of space and a tent (in case it rains). The rest - is up to your imagination and with the help of some rental items such as chair sashes (no need for covers really!), white table clothes, some creative draping and flowers, ribbons and floating candles if you have a pool - a spectacular wedding full of charm can be yours without breaking a bank!

We also had some fun accessory projects last week such as creating a summer paradise theme accessories set along with table centerpieces and the bridal bouquet, with the fun part being in the request to incorporate some Scottish traditions in it:

As we did some research on Scottish weddings, we learned some very awesome legends and fairytales along the way! Fairies, thistle, heather and tartan, horseshoes for luck, tree throwing....and now we know about the infamous Oscar :P What a fascinating experience wedding prep can be!
And to finish this rather lengthy update on a refreshing note - here's a set we made for a sweet bride Lindsay, who wanted something fresh, elegant, with lots of white and some lime accents:

Just Another Busy Tuesday...

bluHi everyone! I finally got a few minutes to update our little blog :)
First of all, heartfelt congratulations to Sahar & Fawwaz, who got married this past Sunday in DDO.

What a great wedding it was! During the decorating, we were so overjoyed to see what a great family the newlyweds have, there were so many people helping, running errands, dancing, and otherwise cheering everyone else on that we just could not help but smile all the way :) And the bride's sisters made amazing centerpieces and aisle vase decorations that could make professional florist run for their money! We really wish more brides these days had such great support from their families and friends on their big day, it makes such a huge difference.  Here's a teaser photoshoot of that magnificent day:

 

Moving on from the Sahar & Fawwaz's sea of blue, I shall recap a few of the projects that we have recently completed: Lilla contacted us last week wondering if we could make some accessories for her in black, white and red, and of course we couldn't resist such glamourous color combo, so here's her sample set so far:

 

And here's what we made for another sweet bride called Lyziane, who wanted to have a bridal bouquet full of her favorite flowers - lilies!

 

And finally, we are so excited to be able to help Ivy, who has a terrible time finding chair covers for her reception hall that had provided her with office-type wide back chairs. Our universal satin chair cover fleet will finally have it's maiden voyage on July 3rd, we can't wait to see how they will add that extra bit of magic in the air with their luxurious sheen and soft, sensuous touch. In addition to chair covers, table runners, linen and honor table decor, we will also provide Ivy with our romantic centerpieces for guest tables, featuring a glass hurricane and candle nestled snugly in snowhite feathers and salmon pink roses, topped with an elegant gold ribbon. Busy Tuesday's recap of apples, oranges, garters and sky-blue beach fairyales :)

Wow, what a day we had yesterday.... So many projects to finish up, so many wonderful brides to work with :P And here are some highlights of our super-busy Tuesday:
Samples of apple green envylicious arrangements and accessories for Kathleen, who wanted something elegant, romantic and fun:

 It's not finished however - we still have to make a matching centerpiece for the center of the honor table.
 Up next, we have Nathalie, who inspired us a lot with her request for orange colored accessories:

We had so much fun making these :)
Then, we worked some magic on Lani's garter: she picked a very glamorous wedding dress 'Landis' and wanted a garter in royal blue satin with some diamond accents. Because it's for a destination wedding, we created the "Sea Empress" garters, hoping they will satisfy our lovely bride's request :P

And then we modified Sonia's bouquet of crisp snow white roses to have 'a bit more blue' in it, made two ring pillows and two matching bouquets for bridesmaids, and added a bit more foliage to the orchid boutonnieres, all according to our bride's wishes. Here they are, it turned out pretty romantic and elegant, don't you think?
